    apple cider. and spooky cocktails.

Oh man how I love apple cider. Obviously it's delicious and in high demand over Thanksgiving, but I love it all year long. So when Eckert's had me and my gal pal out to the farm to pick apples, I was ecstatic that red delicious were among the apples ready to be picked...because they are perfect for cider. Oh and we had a blast picking pumpkins as well.

We used the apples to make a small thing of cider out of it and a few other cocktails for the perfect spooky and autumnal drinks.

    Apple Cider

    • 8 red delicious apples, cored and sliced

    • 4 cinnamon sticks

    • 2 teaspoons cloves

    • 2 teaspoons allspice

    • 10 cups water

    • 1/4 brown sugar

    Pomegranate Cranberry Sparkler

    • Pomegranate Cranberry Juice

    • Champagne (aka sparkling wine for you sticklers)

    • Pomegranate seeds

    Apple Cider

    1. Start making your apple cider by putting all the apple cider ingredients (minus the brown sugar) into a large pot on the stove set to a boil. After about an hour, add brown sugar. Cover and allow to boil for at least another hour, or until the apples are completely mushy when you touch it with a wooden spoon.

    2. Remove cinnamon sticks. Strain the apples from the juice into a jar. Save your apple mush for an easy apple sauce.

    Pomegranate Cranberry Sparkler

    1. In a glass pour 1 part pom cranberry juice and 1 part champagne. Add pomegranate seeds.

    Apple Pom Drink

    1. In a glass pour 1/3 of the glass full with apple cider and fill the rest with the Pomegranate Cranberry Sparkler. Enjoy!
